Stanford (Stan) Hovey, a Certified Mapping Scientist, Remote Sensing specialist, has spent over 20 years involved with the ASPRS Education & Professional Development Committee. His academic background with a BS in Forestry from the New York State College of Environmental Science& Forestry and a MS in Photogrammetry from Syracuse University prepared him for a professional career in research management focused in the core ASPRS disciplines of GIS, remote sensing, automated cartography and photogrammetry. He applied these mapping sciences to transportation and emergency management issues. Stan held Society positions as Region President for both the Central New York and Potomac Region.
