MAPPS and ASPRS join together to co-host the MAPPS/ASPRS 2012 Specialty Conference in Tampa, Florida, October 29 through November 1, 2012. This significant conference is the seventh in a series that originated in 1994 as the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) began jointly hosting education conferences on emerging mapping and geospatial technologies and applications that have now become an integral part of our everyday lives. The conference seeks to bring geospatial data users, managers, and imaging and geospatial information professionals together to present the latest developments.
This year’s conference theme, “Ground to Cloud (R)Evolution – Emerging Technologies Supporting Geospatial Application,” will focus on the “(R)Evolution" of this dynamic technology through geospatial applications such as lidar (airborne, ground based, Flash, and Waveform), Visualization and Modeling, Data fusion/integration, 3D GIS and the integration of GIS and BIM technologies. We will also touch on many aspects of digital elevation mapping, with a special emphasis on the use of cloud based computing and the implications of using Software as a Service (SaaS), Platforms as a Service (PaasS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) on the geospatial enterprise. This conference is sure to be a stand-out and two days of presentations you Do Not Want to Miss!

Print Media: Provide an industry-related article written by you within the last six months, as well as a copy of your business card -OR- a copy of a current masthead clearly displaying your name and editorial title.
Freelance Writers: Provide an industry-related article written by you within the last six months, as well a signed letter (on letterhead) from an editor at a recognized publication indicating that you are contracted to write an article related to the ASPRS 2012 Annual Conference.
Freelance/Staff Photographers and Photo Agencies: Provide a signed letter (on letterhead) from a contact at a recognized geospatial news organization indicating that you are contracted to photograph the MAPPS/ASPRS 2012 Specialty Conference.
Media Sponsors & Sustaining Members: No qualifications are necessary if you are a media sponsor or ASPRS Sustaining member company. ASPRS will verify your sponsorship or membership as necessary.
