Tips for Getting Around San Antonio
Streetcar System - San Antonio has a fantastic historic Streetcar system which services a large portion of the city and most major attractions. And a stop directly outside of the Conference Host Hotel at 111 Pecan Street.
- Here is a printable brochure and map for the Streetcar system
- Weblink to the VIA Transit website to purchase Streetcar fare cards
RiverTaxi - Of course you NEED to take a Riverboat trip while you are in San Antonio! And just your luck, there is a taxi stop right outside of our Conference hotel. RiverTaxi's are a bit different. They are designed to transport you through the Riverwalk, just like a car taxi - with better scenery - they are not a narrated tour of the Riverwalk. But what a great way to travel!
The Taxi’s follow a circular route and pass every stop along the way. When you see the checkered flags on the back or the Rio Taxi sign on the front, just wave the boat over and buy your tickets on board. We only accept cash on the boat. Keep in mind that the Rio Taxi resembles our tour boats with the exception of the sign and flags.
San Antonio Ambassador Amigo's - Are you lost along the Riverwalk? Do you need a "local's opinion", well, the San Antonio Ambassador Amigo's are here for you. Look for the Ambassador Amigo's with the yellow shirts and Cowboy hats. They are a plethora of information and can offer a good restaurant, direct you where to go next and escort you along the Riverwalk if you are alone. The Ambassador Amigo's are here to help you!
